Jowandi is an Australian aboriginal of the Yawuru tribe: a composer, singer and musician, who plays digjeridoo and uses boomerangs rhythmically. On this album he has invited other Aboriginal artists: Janawang, a Gooniyandi singer; Jangala , a Nyoongar didjeridoo player; and 3 women singers from 3 different tribes. The tracks cover the history of their peoples from early mythology, ancestral heroes, the conflicts of colonisation to present day culture.
