These recordings, thought lost for many years, are of the first European concerts given by the Chet Baker quartet in Holland with the brilliant pianist Dick Twardzik, who died in Paris from a drug overdose a few days after these recordings were made, at the age of 24.
Personnel : Chet Baker, trumpet, Dick Twardzik, piano, Jimmy Bond, bass and Peter Littman, drums. Tracks 1-6: Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, Holland, September 17, 1955; tracks 7-12: Kurhaus, Schveningen, Holland, September 18, 1955.
As a bonus, two tracks from the next concert by the same group in Mainz, Germany, September 21, 1955.
