Feedback is a new album (2007) by the the reformed, experimental, psychedelic LA group of the late 60s, featuring three of the original members : James Lowe (lead vocal, autoharp), Ken Williams (guitar), and Mark Tulin (bass).
They continue to roll back the years with a no-frills production with loads of distortion, fuzz and of course feedback, as the recreate their 60s sound - a rousing blend of garage rock and psychedelia. The guitars and vocals still sound great - the lyrics surely tongue-in-cheek at times.
The Prunes are also now on MySpace, reaching fans old & new; and they are now recording and touring with a new drummer, Walter Garces, who has been called the ‘drum guru’ of LA, and who is on two tracks on this CD.
The Electric Prunes were famous, of course, for their ridiculously good 1966 single, the much-covered I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night, and the wonderfully kitsch 1968 ‘Mass in F Minor’ album (produced by David Axelrod) which provided the ‘Kyrie Eleison’ track for the Mardi Gras sequence in the film Easy Rider.
